Home Improvement Bloggers Transform Outdated Porch with Pella® French Doors
An Idaho duo who run a popular home improvement blog have updated a dated porch into a modern dining area with the help of custom Pella® French doors.
Chris and Julia Marcum, who have updated several of their family’s houses, said in a blog post they began envisioning updates for the space when they visited the house last summer. The couple said they saw using the big room to entertain friends and family as they get together for meals.
The couple said the space “added valuable living space and square footage to our home that we are excited to use year-round, but we definitely see summer dinner parties, with all the doors open to the patio and the flow from inside to out being magical.”
In its prior condition, the enclosed porch had a blend of doors—dated brown French doors and sliding glass doors.
Today, the majority of of the doors have been replaced with black Pella Architect Series® Reserve™ French doors. As this line includes the most customizable options, the Marcums were able to create the ideal door to fit their residence.
That space is now an updated dining room. A sleek|monochromatic|neutral]50] appearance has replaced the dated brick-and-brown color scheme.
Although the area is expansive, it’s made more relaxing with oversized drum lighting fixtures and a large double-sided fireplace. A floating credenza, oak dining tables and leather chairs finish the look.
